Happy Child
Happy Child rescues street and ‘at risk’ children in the cities of Belo Horizonte, south-eastern Brazil, and Recife, north-eastern Brazil. They have a 24 hour emergency centre, 7 safe homes and a farm community which provide a secure base for their rehabilitation and reintegration back into family and community. They receive some of the most traumatized and abused children who have suffered neglect, abandonment and abuse.
Founded in 1993, today Happy Child is one of the leading and most experienced charities helping street children in Brazil. Happy Child works with children in key areas of: prevention; rescue; homes and rehabilitation; education and training; and family – re-integration, fostering and adoption.
They have rescued over 8,000 children to date.

United Generations
United Generations is a young and fast growing independant non-profit organisation promoting and organizing intergenerational programmes, motivating different age groups to mutually support and benefit from each other. Such programmes are fostered by local volunteers, which come to life on a do-it-yourself basis.
The key goal of United Generations is to generate solidarity between age groups, especially between children and elderly people.
