Angle wedge for the BRITAX ISOFIX and Belted Base
Optimise the comfort for your child with the angle wedge
Andover, August 2011 – In exceptional cases the angle of the base in conjunction with the cars passenger seats can be too steep which may lead to a baby’s head moving forward.
We have found that predominately the rear seats from sports cars and coupes are relatively steep. Modern car designs have changed in recent years leading to a steeper shape of the rear passenger seats in particular.
Our goal is create an optimal balance between security (best crash-test performance) and comfort for the child. The steeper the angle of the backrest of the infant carrier, the greater the protection in the event of an accident. However, the flatter the baby lies, the more comfortable it is for the child but it is possible that the safety is no longer at the optimum level.
BRITAX has addressed this and developed the angle wedge - a solution that maximises the safety and comfort of your child.

How do you know if you need an angle wedge?
The most important indicator is your baby. It should sit comfortably in the child car seat and hold his head upright on its own. If your baby’s head falls forward, then first make sure the child car seat is approved in conjunction with the base for your vehicle and fitted correctly. We always recommend when purchasing a child car seat to always ask the Store specialist to install the child car seat to check whether the seat is right for your car.
Where and when will the angle wedge be available?
The angle wedge is included in all our black BABY-SAFE Belted Base and the black BABY-SAFE ISOFIX base from October 2011. Consumers who already own one of the two products and would like to obtain the angle wedge can request this free from August 31st 2011 from either our Customer Service Department or selected retailers.
