Important product information for BRITAX BABY-SAFE plus II and BABY-SAFE plus SHR II Infant Carriers

Andover, December 2011 – We are aware of some cases where, contrary to the user instructions, consumers have over-extended the handle of the above infant carriers beyond the standard upright carrying position. Forcing the handle in the wrong direction from the upright carrying position (zero degree) towards the feet of the child can weaken the joint between the handle and the seat of the infant carrier and in isolated cases has resulted in the handle becoming detached. This is shown in the diagram below.

As a market leader in product safety, Britax would like to draw this issue to the attention of existing users of the infant carriers and to emphasise the importance of complying with the instructions for use and ensuring that your child is harnessed at all times when in the seat, whether it is being used as a car seat or carrier. The user guide and video can be accessed via this link: www.britax.co.uk/customer-service/support

If the handle of your infant carrier is loose, please stop using the carrier immediately. In such case, or if or you have any concerns or questions regarding the correct use of the product please contact our consumer care team:
