Child Car Seat Testing

Top European test organisations, such as independent motoring and consumer organisations consistently rate BRITAX amongst the best - and we constantly exceed legal safety requirements.

ECE R 44/04

All BRITAX child car seats are tested and approved to the current Child Safety Standard ECE R 44/04, shown by the first two numbers on the approval number on the orange approval label (ECE-label).

EuroNCAP

Euro NCAP publishes safety reports on new cars, and awards 'star ratings' based on the performance of the vehicles in a variety of crash tests, including front, side and pole impacts, and impacts with pedestrians.

BRITAX are the car seats of choice. 3 out of 4 vehicle manufacturers trust our child seats when testing for child occupant protection at Euro NCAP*

Stiftung Warentest (StiWa)

Stiftung Warentest is the leading consumer safety group in Germany and considered to be a test leader in Europe. Its tasks are the independent comparison of products and services, but also the education of consumers about economic, healthy, and environment-friendly behaviour. Equivalent: which? in the UK and “quoi choisir” in France.

We are constantly striving to develop child car seats with the highest levels of safety and we are proud that many of our child car seats are rated amongst the best when it comes to consumer tests. See overview of test results.

ADAC crash tests (German Automobile Club)

The ADAC tests our child car seats to stringent requirements. Following film sequences for the evaluation of the test results make clear what forces act in an accident.
