Our own Test Centres

At our design centres in Germany and the UK, designers and engineers use state-of-the-art research facilities, including our own crash test rigs, to ensure the highest possible standards, choosing the most suitable materials, testing under extreme conditions and taking every measure to ensure the highest quality for all our products.

BRITAX belongs to a small number of manufacturers whose quality management systems follow the strict requirements of the car industry, conforming to ISO/TS 16949.

During crash simulations, advanced test dummies measure key physical parameters such as movement and acceleration. These measurements, together with the analysis of slow motion sequences from high-speed videos help us develop safe, effective and ergonomic child safety systems.

As part of our ongoing commitment to drive forward the development of child safety, BRITAX applied for numerous patents, constantly adopting new technologies and investigating real life accidents to deliver new and leading innovations.

 

Duration tests

In test laboratories duration tests are performed which prove the functioning of components under various loads. Specially designed devices and measuring equipment are used.

A test set-up for instance simulates the function and the clamping effect of the strap adjuster and the abrasion of the webbing in constant use. Furthermore the load capacity of the buckle is tested by opening and closing it many thousand times.
